Salt is a tasting room specializing in artisanal cheese, small-batch cured meats, and a dynamic array of wines, beers and sherries.
Our menu is simple. Guests assemble a Tasting Plate from our chalkboard’s selection of 10 cheeses, 10 meats, and 10 condiments. The selections change constantly, making it almost impossible to have the same Salt experience twice.

Salt is located in Gastown's historic Blood Alley, which runs south of Water St. between Carrall St. and Abbott St.
Once you're in the alley, look for the salt shaker flag hanging over our front door. If you get lost, call us at 604-633-1912, and we'll talk you in.
You can park on the street (the meters run till 10:00, 7 nights a week), or at the EasyPark on Water St. - it's a secure, patrolled lot with 600 spaces, just half a block away from our door. There is more information available on EasyPark's website.
If you're not familiar with Gastown (or if you're a visitor to Vancouver), you can get directions to our location from Google Maps.

Below Salt Tasting Room, The Salt Cellar is a unique space which on Friday and Saturday nights doubles the capacity of Salt. The rest of the week, we use it for private functions from birthdays to fashion shows and an ongoing series of Winemaker’s Dinners. Whether you're looking for a sit down dinner for 40 people or a wine tasting event with friends and co-workers, drop us a line at info@salttastingroom.com and we’ll run through the various options for you.
The Salt Cellar Series returns and it is truly a pleasure to welcome some of the finest products in the USA. This "Best of America" event will feature cured meats from L'Quercia in Iowa, Goat Cheese from Cypress Grove in California and wines from some of the top wineries in Napa Valley, California. Wineries such as Truchard, Trefethen, Zacherle and Central will be featured.
Join us in the Cellar as we pair these spectacular wines with some of the finest artisan cheeses and cured meats the United States has to offer.
We take a limited number of reservations each night and the remainder of the room is first come, first seated.
